CEC Kicks Off Its Member Op-Ed Workshop
This month, 14 CEC members from across the U.S. met to learn more about the art of writing and pitching op-eds. Publishing op-eds allows people to bring attention to ongoing issues, offer thoughtful solutions, and persuade lawmakers and real-world influencers to act.
Led by Margot Friedman of Dupont Circle Communications, the group tried out story leads, shared experiences, and began drafting their introductions. Over the coming weeks, participants are working with CEC staff to complete their op-eds and publish them in the news and online, sharing their expertise and experiences.
This first group represented teachers, administrators, parents, and researchers covering early childhood to transition age. We are very excited to see what’s next and share their pieces as they come out.
